

Marie Lantz Crews, 85, died peacefully in her home in Grand Junction, Colorado, on February 6, 2017. She was born August 9, 1931, in Casper, Wyoming, to Peter and Rubie Indergard. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1949, attended Central Business School in Denver, and later Arizona State University, where she earned a Master’s Degree in Business/Education in 1971.
Marie married Clifton Crews in April 1953; they celebrated 51 years together until his death in 2004. From Wyoming they had moved to Phoenix, Arizona, where Marie taught Business classes at East High School and Marcos de Niza High in Tempe. She retired in 1989, and they moved to Strawberry, Arizona.
In 2005 Marie moved to Grand Junction to be near her brother, Lawrence Indergard, and his family. Her happiest years were the last twelve spent here. She became a member of the First Congregational UCC Church, where she sang in the choir and served with the Shepherds. She believe in exercising, so she made many friends at the Wellness Center.
Always cheerful and enthusiastic, she will be sadly missed by family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Lawrence. She is survived by numerous cousins, nephews, and a niece.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday, February 15, at the First Congregational UCC Church, 1425 N. 5th Street at 11:00 a.m., with lunch immediately following.
