

Mrs. Haupt was a homemaker.
A private family service will be held.
Survivors include her husband, Sam; two sons, Bud of Grand Junction, and Charly of Redding, California; one daughter, Katie McKew of Grand Junction; one brother, Samuel F. Nichols of Minneapolis; one sister, Blanche N. Sudik of Denver; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Marie ""Nicky"" Haupt
April 14, 1935 - October 12, 2014
Nicky was born in Lincoln, Nebraska as Marie Nichols on April 14, 1935, to M.V. Nichols and Katherine A. Nichols. She grew up and graduated from high school in Beatrice, Nebraska in 1953. She attended college at Scripps College, and graduated from the University of Nebraska, 1957.
Nicky married Sam Haupt on August 12, 1957. She worked as a teacher in Nebraska, Minnesota, and Colorado. Nicky and Sam moved to Grand Junction in 1964. They raised three children.
She is survived by her husband, Sam; son, Bud Haupt (Kim); son, Charley Haupt (Guilaine); daughter, Katie Haupt McKew (Jim); nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother, Samuel F. Nichols (Marian) of Minneapolis, MN, and sister, Blanche Sudik, Denver CO.
Nicky has traveled extensively. She has lived in Hawaii, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Florida.
She will be remembered in a private family celebration.
