Mary Regina Addison

A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Grand Junction.

She is survived by four daughters, Janet Cross of Battlement Mesa, Susan Addison of Grand Junction, Nancy Helmers of Switzerland, and Jacqueline Sowell of Cary, North Carolina; a sister Sophie Batura of Illinois; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mary R. Addison

September 7, 1927 - March 9, 2015

Mary Regina Addison was born on September 7, 1927, to Stefan ""Steve"" Juszczyk and Sophia (Przedmojski) Juszczyk in Johnston City, Illinois. She was a coal miner's daughter. She moved to Chicago after graduation, met and married the love of her life, John ""Jack"" Addison on September 10, 1949. They resided in the Chicago area until they retired to Grand Junction, Colorado and Hawaii. Together they raised a family and traveled the world.

She is survived by her four daughters, Janet (Steve) Cross of Parachute, Colorado; Susan (Michael Rooks) of Grand Junction, Colorado; Nancy (Oliver) Helmers of Switzerland; Jacqueline (Alan) Sowell of Cary, North Carolina; one sister, Sophie Batura of Addison, Illinois; seven grandchildren, John (Corinne) Rybak; Andrew (Shirley) Mabrey; Christopher (Alicia) Mabrey; Sara Helmers; Daniel Helmers; Michael Sowell; and Rebecca Sowell; three great-grandchildren, Lily Sue Mabrey; Amrita Simone Nakamura Rybak, and Averie Marie Mabrey.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her step-brothers, Steve Juszczyk, and Frank Juszczyk; step-sister, Juanita Menzik, and her beloved husband, Jack.

Mom, we celebrate your life as we mourn with your family and friends whose lives you have touched. We honor your life as we recall memories, we cherish and bless your life and praise the time we had with you. Mom, we miss your life!

Service will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015, and a celebration of life will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the Atrium of Grand Valley, 3260 N 12th St., Grand Junction, CO.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mary's name, may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Wounded Warriors Project.
