Obituary of Mary Ann Elizabeth Bogani
Mary Ann Elizabeth Bogani was born April 7, 1933 to Eva Elizabeth Chase and Hugh Patrick Flynn in Glenwood Springs, CO. She was raised by her grandparents and graduated from Glenwood High School where she was a baton twirling drum majorette. Mary Ann moved to Denver where she met her husband Art and raised 2 children together: Tina and Mark. She was very active in her children’s lives as a girl scout leader and volunteering her time for other school and after school activities. The family moved around quite a bit—Colorado Springs, Jeffrey City, WY and back to Denver but the marriage between she and Art ended in 1982. Mary Ann loved to decorate—you could always count on her home having the best Christmas décor, but really, she decorated for every season and occasion. Her home was cozy and warm and filled with vintage knick-knacks and antiques. She had a great love for her small dogs: Candy the little poodle, Ling-Ling the Shih tzu, Maggie the King Charles Spaniel, and her current dogs: Katie the Shih tzu and Zoe the King Charles Spaniel. But more than that, she loved and was so very proud of her only grandson, Nicholas. Another passion of Mary Ann’s was dancing and that is how she met the love of her life Miles. Sometime in the 80’s, Mary Ann was in a car accident—nothing too serious, however, she was experiencing numbness that wouldn’t go away. Finally, after many doctors and opinions, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a devastating diagnosis for most, but that was not going to slow her down! She and Miles became very active in the local MS organization and she raised money for them every year. Mary Ann eventually moved to Grand Junction and was hired by Choice Hotels where she made many life-long friends. It didn’t take long for Miles to follow Mary Ann to Grand Junction and they’ve been together through sickness and health ever since. We all will miss, Mary Ann: her warmth, her smile, her thoughtfulness and generosity. The family would like to thank all those who have reached out with their thoughts, their prayers and the special memories they’ve shared.
