

Maury Strahl was born on July 22, 1927 to Maurice and Ruth Strahl in Escanaba, Michigan.
Maury spent his childhood in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan and graduated from Sault Ste. Marie High School in June 1947.
Maury attended the Colorado Agriculture and Mechanical College in Ft. Collins, CO and attained a Bachelor of Science in Forestry and Wildlife Management.
He worked for Merchant Marine Service of the Great Lakes on ore boats; Professional Photographer for the Michigan Tourist Council and was one of the lead photographers during the building of the Mackinaw Bridge; Fishing Charter Boat Captain on the Great Lakes; and Owner of Canyonland Graphics in Grand Junction, CO.
Maury was a MPC 1 in the Army and also served honorably in the Navy serving in the Korean War.
Maury loved hiking, fishing and traveling.
He married Andrea Strahl (Stewart) on May 21, 1992 and was previously married to Gladys Tuxworth. Both are deceased.
He was a resident of Palisade, CO from 2002 and previously lived in Grand Junction, CO; Traverse City, MI and Kalkaska, MI.
Maury’s ashes were placed at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western CO in Grand Junction on October 26, 2023.
Maury leaves behind his sister Mary Ruth Allen from Greensboro, GA; and many Nieces and Nephews.
Maury is preceded in death by his parents Maurice and Ruth Strahl and brother John Schuyler Strahl.

Military Honors will be held Monday, January 8, 2024 at 1:00 pm at the Quarterly Honors Service at Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western CO, 2830 Riverside Parkway, Grand Junction, CO 81501.
