Ollie Bud Edward Cole Jr.

July 22, 1933 – May 21, 2012

Ollie was born at Vici, OK during the dust bowl days to Ollie and Violet Cole. The family moved to Colorado in 1937, first to Delta, and later to Rifle.

Bud graduated from Rifle Schools in 1951, and then worked in the Uranium Mines. He spent several years in Oklahoma and went to Diesel Mechanic School in Okmulgee. He returned to Colorado in the mid 60’s where he worked as a mechanic and welder for Garfield County.

He had a lifelong love of horses, being especially fond of Cricket, his Palomino. Bud had a very big heart, was kind and loving towards family and friends, and was a Christian.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters; Lorene Threewit of Caldwell, ID and Olene Blackman of St. George, UT, and Melva (Judy) Sonntag of Yuma, AZ. Surviving sisters are Sylva Rees and Verlene Alexander of Grand Junction, CO, and Alva Patterson of Grants, N.M. As well as several nieces and nephews and cousins and a host of friends.

A visitation will be held at Memorial Gardens Mausoleum on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 10AM, with funeral services to immediately follow. Online condolences may be left at MartinMortuary.com
