Patricia Louise
Hoke Burrow
August 11, 1922 - August 27, 2014
Pat Burrow passed away peacefully at the HopeWest Hospice Center, Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at the ripe old age of 92.
She was born in Elyria, OH, to Dorothy Louise Hamlin and Dr. George Alvin Hoke. Three years later, brother, Dr. George Hamlin Hoke joined the family.
Pat finished high school in Elyria, and went on to major in Voice at Stephens College in Columbia, MO. The United States was embroiled in World War II at that time and her father was in the Army Medical Corps in California. She finished the two years at Stephens College and was going to continue her voice education at UCLA, where her parents were stationed. Her father introduced her to a handsome young lieutenant, Dr. W. Hollis Burrow, and six weeks later, they were married in Quartzite, AZ. After the war, they moved to Toledo, OH, to be closer, but not too close, to her parents. Four children were born to this union, Maida, Bill, Todd, and Rick. In 1956, they moved to Greenville, MS, for 34 years, before moving to Grand Junction, CO. She loved to travel and to sing and joined the Sweet Adelines in Grand Junction in 2002, after Hollis passed away.
She is predeceased by her husband, of almost 60 years, Hollis; her parents; brother, George, and grandson, Richard.
Pat is survived by her four children, Dr. Maida Louise Burrow (Dr. Jerry O. Bush); Dr. William ""Bill"" Hollis Burrow, II (LaFon); Dr. Claude ""Todd"" Hoke Burrow (Linda), and Richard Hamlin Burrow (Mary). She has nine grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. She was cremated by Callahan-Edfast and her ashes will be interred with her husband's ashes at the VA Memorial Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to the charity of your choice in her name.
