

He is survived by his wife, Belva; one son, Douglas of North Potomac, Md.; one daughter, Cindy Neal of Grand Junction; one sister, Sara Dowell of Halifax, Pa.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Raymond Sweigard

Raymond ""Ray"" Sweigard was born on June 26, 1930, in Halifax, Pennsylvania. He passed away on February 19, 2014, in Grand Junction, Colorado.
Ray graduated from Halifax High School in 1947. He joined the United States Navy and served from August 1947 until June 1950 as an Airman in Air Transport Squadron 8 stationed in Hawaii.
Ray is survived by his beloved wife, Belva Zimmerman Sweigard. The high school sweethearts were married on December 15, 1951, in Halifax, Pennsylvania.
Ray retired as a civilian Quality Assurance Inspector from Hill Air Force Base in Ogden,Utah in 1987. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer and loved to restore and repair antique clocks.
Ray was the third child of Charles M. Sweigard (deceased) and Emma Shoop (deceased). He was brother to Charles ""Buddy"" Sweigard and Carl Sweigard, both deceased. He is survived by sister, Sara Dowell of Halifax, Pennsylvania.
Ray is survived by son, Douglas (Cheri) Sweigard of North Potomac, Maryland, and daughter, Cindy (Don) Neal of Grand Junction, Colorado. He is also survived by grandsons, Richard (Kristy) Sweigard of La Grange , Illinois; Ryan (Kimmie) Sweigard of Glen Burnie, Maryland; and Nathan (Maegan) Ralston of Grand Junction, Colorado; great-grandsons, Shay and Tyson Sweigard, and great-granddaughter, Blakely Ralston. He was preceded in death by great-grandson, Kaden Sweigard.
Private memorial was held at Tiara Rado golf course.
