

Richard L. Peterson passed away November 26, 2014 in Grand Junction, Colorado from a pulmonary embolism. He was born in Denver, Colorado on July 15, 1971 to Stan and Lucille Peterson. Rich and his wife, Valorie Vallejos, volunteered for the BLM when they lived in Craig to help with mustang gather’s, which led them to adopting seven horses of their own. He was an avid lover of horses and eventually went to horseshoeing school to become a farrier, which he did in addition to his job. He loved working with horses and was pursuing a future to eventually train horses. Rich and his wife moved to Grand Junction, Colorado and became members of Fellowship Church. Rich loved the Lord and was consistent in his growth to know the Lord. Rich will always be remembered as a hard worker, persistent to be and do his very best whatever he did. He is loved by his sons Devin Fetchin, of Steamboat Springs, CO, and Justin (Heather) Page of Grand Junction, CO. He was an awesome husband and father. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. He had three grandchildren, Landon Thompson of Watertown, NY, Kiarra Wright of Grand Junction, CO, and Liam Page of Grand Junction, CO. All of them adored their “Poppa”
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Stanley Gregg Peterson. Rich is survived by his wife, two sons, his parents Lucille and Stan Peterson of Craig, siblings Ken (Cindy) Peterson of Highlands Ranch, CO, Terianne (Todd) Wheeler of Craig, CO, and Russell Peterson of Craig, CO, three grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
