Richard Eugene Werling Jr.

Richard was born January 12, 1973 at Lower Valley Hospital in Fruita, Colorado on a cold snowy night. He was the first baby of the New Year of 1973 born at the Fruita hospital. He was loved and doted on by his parents, Richard and Laura Werling, all of the grandparents, great-grandparents aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Richard loved the outdoors. His father taught him to hunt, fish, and enjoy nature. He achieved his GED later in life, and did many jobs such as, mechanic technician, arborist/tree maintenance, delivery driver for bread and potato chips, he didn’t enjoy his stint in a call center, but did enjoy working as a cab driver, since he had an outgoing people personality. He passed away November 27, 2025 after a long health struggle.

He is survived by Laura Werling (mother), Tanya (sister) & Alan Capriottti, Brandon, Devin, and Steven Capriotti (nephews), Matthew (brother)& Amy Werling, Ashley, Angela, Abrielle (nieces), Jacob, Benjamin, and Tanner (nephews) Werling. He is predeceased by Richard Werling (father), and Nathan Capriotti (nephew), as well as all grandparents.

Richard chose to not have a funeral service, but asked to have his ashes scattered on Grand Mesa, which will happen at a later date.
