Robert Stuart Thon

Robert "Bob" S. Thon April 18, 1943 – April 24, 2012 Robert (Bob) S. Thon, 69, of Grand Junction, Colorado passed away April 24, 2012. Bob was born in Owatonna, MN on April 18, 1943, an only child of A. Robert and Faye (Thompson) Thon. Bob graduated from Owatonna High School in 1961, and four years later graduated from the University of Minnesota. On November 25, 1970, he married his late wife, Wallis (Nottingham) Thon, of 38 years in Longmont, CO. Bob worked as a real estate agent in Denver, CO for over 20 years where he and his wife raised their two children. In 2002, he and his wife moved to Grand Junction to enjoy the many outdoor activities the valley provides. During Bob's retirement years he enjoyed playing the piano at many retirement centers, assisted living facilities, and special events across Western Colorado. Robert is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Thon-Kollar and Steve Kollar of Grand Junction, and daughter and son-in-law, Paige Thon and Scott Waters of Mestrino, Italy. Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Wallis Thon, and parents, A. Robert and Faye Thon. A memorial service will be held at Martin Mortuary, 550 North Avenue, Grand Junction at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 1st.
