

Ron was born on January 6, 1945, to George Thomas Rogers and Julia Irma Hooker. He spent his childhood in Salt Lake and Logan, Utah, graduating from Logan High School in 1963, and attending Utah State University.
Ron married Gezzel Calhoun on April 4, 1993, and would have celebrated their 25th Anniversary. Ron was an active member for over 20 years of Bethel Assembly of God in Grand Junction, Colorado. He helped in various children’s ministries, especially Royal Rangers.
Ron was a hard working tanker truck driver for over 37 years. Ron spent the last 9 ½ years in a wheelchair, but he didn’t let it get him down. Ron loved life and always had a contagious winning smile on his face. He loved spending time with his family and church at picnics, BBQ’s, camping, playing games, or just visiting.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and two brothers, George Rogers and James Gill. Survivors include his wife, Gezzel; eight sons, Jeff (Jodi) Johnson, Marc (Julie) Holyoak, Ryan (Marcy) Rogers, and Forrest Rogers all of Utah, Fred Taylor of Virginia, Brandon (Chandra) Taylor of Tennessee, Ian (Cat) Taylor and Zack Rogers of Colorado; four daughters, Jenni (Norman) Norton, Angela (Jon) Barrie, Sara (Kameron) Rice of Utah, and Marci Stewart of Arizona; 23 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life services will be Friday, March 9, at 10:30 AM at Bethel Assembly of God, 2945 Orchard Ave. Burial has taken place at Grand Junction Memorial Gardens.
