What fond memories, from middle school to high school and beyond. Russ and I went steady in 8th grade. The exchange of a St Christopher medal and a kiss on the check....that's all it took to be life long friends. His friendship through the years has meant so much to me. That smile, that laugh and yes that beard! It's hard to express the loss I feel. Russ stays locked in my heart with my memories. 
My love to you Cindy, Katie and the rest of the family. Thank you for sharing Russ with all his many friends.

I remember the day I first met Russ.  It was January 5, 1969, my first day at Saguaro High School after moving from N.J.  I had come from a very rural area and my old school was smaller than the freshmen class I was entering. In those days regional differences were much greater; different music, fashion, slang terms, etc.  I was terrified, shy and felt like I was on a different planet.  Russ came up to me, introduced himself and from that day forward we were the greatest of friends.  He helped me navigate my new environment and was so kind and protective of me.  Our lives went in different directions and there were many years we didn't encounter one another, but he has always held a special place in my heart.  My love to his family and friends.  This is a tremendous loss to all.
