Sean Patrick Delaney

April 27, 1966 - November 11, 2011

Sean Patrick Delaney died peacefully on Veterans Day, November 11, 2011, in Grand Junction, Colorado in the loving embrace of his family. Born on April 27, 1966, in Springfield, Ohio, Sean lived his early life and attended school in the beach cities of Los Angeles County. At the age of three, Sean started a lifelong love of fishing and boating and enjoyed many happy and memorable days with his family by the ocean. In his teens, he participated in all-day fishing trips. He also enjoyed skiing and motocross.

A successful self-taught craftsman in wood and tile, Sean left his fine designs on many homes and businesses throughout Los Angeles. In 2006, Sean moved his carpentry business to Colorado to be near his daughter and grandsons. A proud and involved grandfather, Sean was devoted to his two grandsons, Dominik and Dylan Ortiz, reading stories with them and teaching them to appreciate the outdoors and, of course, to learn the art and spiritual values in fishing.

Sean leaves behind his daughter Erin Delaney, Grand Junction, Colorado; father James Nelson Delaney (spouse Sue A. Welsh), Los Angeles; mother Barbara Hoffman, Marysville, Ohio; brother Michael Alan Delaney (spouse Deborah Kazden) Los Angeles; sister Julie Delaney (spouse Guy W. Jones) Los Angeles; and Bonnie Ortiz, partner and companion of many years; and a large Irish clan of cousins, relatives and friends.

Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Mortuary in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 1pm followed by Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Holy Cross address is 5835 W.
