

Steve was born on November 14th, 1946 in Selden, Kansas to Elmo and Delma Corder. He attended High School in Oberlin, Kansas then went on to college in Colby and Wichita, Kansas. Steve enlisted in the Army in 1968 and was assigned to Vietnam in March, 1970 fulfilling his duties in LRRP (Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol). Sergeant Steve Corder was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service with the 299th Engineer Battalion in December, 1971. He finished out his enlistment in Germany.
Steve went on to work with his father in the Corder Pump and Well Service and later owned his own Culligan business. He invented and patented a testing gauge in 1965. He installed car washes and worked in the construction industry. This eventually led him to Colorado where he met and married his wife Mary Gle Corder (nee Campugan).
Steve was kind and companionate. He would always go out of his way to help anyone. He was quite the storyteller and was passionate about his sports teams. Steve was a good guitar player and had a great voice. His life led him on various paths but he chose the right one that led him to God. He was faithful and received the Last Rites. He died in good standing with the Catholic Church.
Steve Corder was a good man.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents Elmo Corder in 1985 and Delma Corder (nee Koerperich) in 1998; and older brother Clint Corder in 2018.
He is survived by his wife Mary Glee Corder, son Ty Corder, daughter Tasha Thilking, granddaughter Kieryn Thilking, and siblings Ed Corder (Vicki) and Angela Corcoran (Paul). Included are numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and three aunts.
Burial is at the Veteran’s Cemetery in Grand Junction, Colorado.
