Vera Wells passed away on January 18, 2024. She was 100 years young. She was born September 23, 1923, to John P. and Elena Aranda in New Castle, CO. The family moved to Antlers, CO. She attended school in Antlers and Rifle. In 1934 she moved to Orchard Mesa and attended Pear Park school.
She was the 3rd of 11 children. In 1940 she married Ray Martinez. Together they had six wonderful children. She worked at the Regional Center for 25 years. She then married Harold Wells in 2001. Her hobbies were gardening, quilting and fancy work.
She is survived by her children Lynda Nelson, Isabell Martinez, Jim Martinez and Angela (Kevin) Jones, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her father, mother and four brothers, four sisters, a son Robert (Vivian) Martinez, a daughter Betty (Herman) Mascarenas, a grandson's Patrick Pino and Bryan Gallegos.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, February 12, 2024 at The River, 636 29 Rd, Grand Junction, CO 81504 with a committal service to follow at Orchard Mesa Cemetery, Calvary section.
