W.L. "Bill" Jewell went home to his
Lord and Savior October 18, 2011.
He was born April 28, 1925 in Colorado
Springs, Colorado to Lyman and Inez
Jewell. He went to grade school in
Denver and later moved to Monterey
Park, California where he graduated
from Mark Keppell High School. He
entered the Navy and served in the
Phillipines during WWII. He was
preceeded in death by his parents and
stepmother.
He is survived by the love of his life,
Margaret, and two step-children,
Jerry Kappler and Nancy Fenty; four
grandchildren, two of which are serving
our country; two great-grandchildren
and two sisters, Jeane Doncaster of
California and Ruth Jewell of Washington.
Bill married Margaret in 1965, after
retiring in 1979 they enjoyed traveling for
three years with RVICS (Roving
volunteers and Christs Service) and then
ten winters in Tucson, AZ working with
UIM Missionary designing electronic
devices for use on the mission field and
two winters doing the same for Campus
Crusade.
Memorial services will be held Saturday,
October 22, at 2:00 p.m. at Heritage
Church 2935 Patterson Road,
Grand Junction, CO. If you so desire, in
lieu of flowers, please remember the
Heritage Church building fund, or
Hospice & Pallative Care Center
of Grand Junction, CO.
