Bill was born on October 5th, 1934, in Denver, Colorado, to Fred Petty and Lorine Leonard. He spent his childhood in Watertown, South Dakota, before graduating from Watertown High School. Bill went on to attend Denver University, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. The day after graduation, he married his loving wife of 68 years, Sue Obenchain.
Bill dedicated his career to supporting businesses of all sizes in the Denver and Grand Junction areas. He later transitioned to the banking industry, where he rose to the position of President of Wells Fargo.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; his children, Mike, Mark, and Susan; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
