Blanche Juanita Gearhart

Blanche Juanita Gearhart born December 7, 1929 passed away peacefully on May 16, 2021. Juanita was affectionately known by friends as “Neta” and lovingly called “Nana” by her 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Born in Gouldbusk, Texas as one of 6 children to Lloyd and Maggie Garrett, she later moved to Grand Prairie where she met and married Sammie Russell (Rusty) Gearhart in 1949. Neta and Rusty shared 63 wonderful years of marriage. Many Grand Prairie residents might remember her from her first job at the Miller Drugstore where she never met a stranger. She later worked for and retired from the Gulf Oil Company. Neta was well known for her contagious laugh, sewing skills, flower arrangements, her fried chicken and homemade pies. Both Neta and Rusty were lifelong active members of Fairview Baptist Church and loved their Fairview family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Maggie Garrett, her loving husband, Rusty, her sister, Maureen Gibbs and her recently passed sister, Billie Foerster.

She will be fondly remembered by her siblings, Robbie Long, Robert Garrett and Peggy Clark. She will be greatly missed by her son Terry Gearhart and wife Debbie and daughter Debbie Olson and husband Jerry as well as grandchildren Tami Gray, Tiffany McNutt, Todd Gearhart, Mason Olson and Laney Griffo and 5 great grandchildren and many special nieces, nephews and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, Texas 75052. A service will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at 10:00 am at the DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.

She fought a hard and courageous battle with Alzheimer’s over the past 4 years. Memorial Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
