Bryan Dunn

Clifford Bryan Dunn, Jr., 84, of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away July 27, 2023 in San Antonio. He was born in Kaufman, TX, on November 2, 1938. Bryan graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 1957 and received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from North Texas State University in 1967. He served his country in the Army from 1960 to 1966. He was married to Jacquelyn (Jackie) Ann Williams on July 1, 1967. They were married for 36 years until her death in 2003.

Bryan had a career in music education which began in the Dallas Independent School District for the first few years. He served the remainder of his thirty-plus-year career in the Grand Prairie Independent School District. His proudest career achievement was directing the choirs at Grand Prairie High School.

He began singing in the Good Times Chorus of Arlington, TX, in the 1970s and served for several years as the director. He also served as choir director at First Christian Church of Grand Prairie from the 1970s through 1984. In 1981 he received the Barbershopper of the Year award, and in 2016 the Grand Prairie High School Alumni Association awarded him the Outstanding Educator of the Year. He hoped that others learned from him a love of singing, music and Jesus.

He is survived by his daughters Dee Dee Williams (Todd) of Raymond, MS, Colleen Dunn of San Antonio, TX, and Mary Coop (Micah) of San Antonio, TX, his grandchildren Emma Williams, Jessie Williams, Aubrie Williams, Jake Williams, Judah Coop, Claire Coop, Sophia Coop, Ethan Coop and Ezra Coop, and his great-grandson Palat Williams.

Funeral service will take place Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 10:00 AM at First Baptist Church Grand Prairie, 950 Mayfield Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Southland Memorial Park, 1100 S.W. 3rd Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75051.
