Cori Scott Featherston

Cori Scott Featherston, 26, died June 3rd, 2018. He was born November 12th, 1991 in Dallas, TX, the son of Cliff and Deanna Featherston. He attended Grand Prairie schools and graduated from Grand Prairie High School in 2011, where he was a member of the football team. He was currently looking forward to the future and eager for the success he had come to find in his life. He recently bragged that he “had it all figured out”.

Cori was an avid sports fan. When asked who his favorite NFL team was, he had no problems letting you know it was the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, if you disagreed you would shortly come to find out why you were wrong. He also loved basketball player, LeBron James and whatever team he happened to be playing on at any given time…whether they were terrible or not. In addition to loving sports, Cori also had an infatuation with name brand tennis shoes and socks. It was just sort of his thing, he wasn’t afraid to tell you if your shoes didn’t make the cut. Video games were another big part of Cori’s life. You could most often find him gaming in his spare time. The most important things in Cori’s life were his family and friends. He loved and cared for others deeply, which is evident in the number of people who are devastated by his passing. Always with a smile on his face, he pushed through life like there were no obstacles in his way. Cori was a kind and gentle soul and the lasting effects of his compassion for others will live on in his memory. He will be greatly missed and most definitely never forgotten.

Cori is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Wanda Merle Featherston.

He is survived by his parents Cliff and Deanna Featherston of Mabank. His oldest sister Amanda Hammel and brother in law Preston of Maypearl, older brother Michael Parker and sister in law Selena of Grand Prairie, younger sister Kayla Galindo and brother in law Jesse of Arlington. Nephews-Andy Galindo, Jason Cervera and Jaxon Hammel and nieces Alexis Galindo and Dakota Featherston. Grandparents Stanley Featherston and wife Edie of Mabank, Jack and Linda Parker of Allen and Bonnie Harrington of McKinney. Cori also leaves behind numerous uncles, aunts, cousins and countless friends.
