To my brother in law Dave....why did you have to leave us so soon?  It is more than a tragedy to loose someone so young.  Our hearts are broken into.  Dave was a loving, kind hearted spirit.  He was funny and an all around great guy. He didn't have a lot, but was very appreciative of all he did have.  I'll never forget, one Christmas he gave me an awesome set of kitchen knives. I was shocked since I knew that was not in his budget. That was the greatest gift I could have ever received because it came straight from his heart.  Miss you Dave.  You are whole again, fly with the angels!

I really don't know what to say. It's still hard to interpret. I now am without an uncle, a friend, & someone i always looked up to. I will miss us havin a cold beer & talkin Cowboys, he was one of the greatest fans! The more I write this, the more I understand, that he is now with my grandmother, my PaPa, my aunt Olga, & jesus christ. As much as I wanna jus sit down and cry, I think that I would be selfish in doing so. He, and our other dear family members we have lost, are in such a better place than we are. But now that I read what I just wrote, I don't think that anyone will judge me for jus wantin to be a lil selfish & cry. I always loved you Uncle David & always will. "Superdave" is what I called my brother in law.. Of all the memories I have of him, I will always remember that distinguishing laugh..We would sit sometimes, eat Menudo, drink some cold ones.... I always had a good joke for Dave, and he always responded with that  laugh I will never forget.. We will meet again someday, and I will forever have him in my heart.

I just want everyone to know that my brother David was a very loving person, those that were close to him would agree. He knew that all his brothers, and sisters loved him unconditionally. I will always have him in my heart along with my sister Olga, and my parents. I love you brother, your lil sis, Angie.

My memories of David are of his kindness towards me as we were growing up in our wonderful little neighborhood. We played in that alley many evenings before the sun went down. I am grateful for all of those memories. My heart and prayers are with all of you at this time. My love to you all.

I hope you won't find this inappropriate, but this is my fondest memory of David and the Deluna brothers so I'm going to share it. Back in the day when I'd go to Kidd Springs park with my girlfriends, our fervent hope was to "accidentally" run into the Deluna brothers. They were all so much fun and SO darned cute. I hope this makes his family smile, and I suspect it would bring a smile to David's face as well. You're such a wonderful, close-knit family. Cherish the precious memories...my love,Jerie

David Deluna (my uncle) will always hold a very special place in my heart because of the way he touched the world with his quiet but wonderful presence.  Many people in life should take a page out of my uncle's life by learning to listen rather than offer advice or speak at all.  I have always admired a man of few words or an individual who rarely speaks, unless spoken to.  My uncle was just that.  He always kept to himself and loved to listen to others talk, which in turn made him the special man he was.
