

Beloved husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, David Kernohan, had an irreparable heart attack on Monday, August 21, and entered Heaven's Gates to meet his Savior Jesus Christ, on Saturday, August 26, 2023. David was known to be the kindest, sweetest, most merciful person one could ever meet.
David's life consisted of love of God and devotion to family. David had the heart of a servant. Two of the things he loved to do most in life were serving communion on Sundays to his church family shut-ins for First Christian Church in Grand Prairie, and also ushering in his church Gateway in Grand Prairie.
David is survived by his wife of 59 years, Minnie, daughters, Susan Grayson and husband, Dwight, of Grand Prairie, Karen Kernohan, of Waxahachie, Lisa Mateja and husband Todd, of Flower Mound, grandson, Philip Grayson of Grand Prairie, grand-daughter, Hanna Flores, and husband, Ryan, of Waxahachie, great-grandson, Landon Flores, Byron Edmonson of Mesquite, and Annabelle Edmonson of Chapel Hill, nephew, Jackie Hawthorne and wife Karen, of Emory, and many nieces and nephews.
David was preceded by his father David Kernohan, Sr. and mother, Myrtle, sister, Delores Hawthorne and husband, Jack.
A visitation for David will be held Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home in the chapel, located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
A funeral service will take place Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Eubank Funeral Home, 27532 State Hwy 64, Canton, TX 75103. A graveside service will follow after the funeral service.
