Elizabeth Hill

Elizabeth “Beth” Hill passed away of natural causes February 14, 2018, at the age of 103. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 60 years, John “Coach” Hill. She is survived by her sons, David Bruce Hill of Grand Prairie and John Gary Hill of Fairview, granddaughter Nicole Elizabeth Langley, and great granddaughter Bryn Langley of Frisco. She is also survived by nieces Jane Kidd of Austin, Marilyn Adams of Brownfield, and RayAnne Carlock of Colorado City.

Beth and Coach married in 1936 in Merkel, Texas after graduating from Hardin Simmons University where they met. They later moved to Grand Prairie around 1948. Beth taught school for 21 years at the newly opened Travis and later Crockett Elementary schools. After retiring from teaching, she joined Coach in his real estate business. They worked together many happy years. She remained a very active member of her community in The Grand Prairie Woman’s Club, Retired Teachers Organization, and First Baptist Church.

Visitation will be held at Grand Prairie Funeral Home on Monday, February 19, from 4-6. The funeral will be February 20 at 1:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie.
