Jr it's a year since your passing and not a day goes by that we don't think of you. Mom puts you fresh flowers every 3 days on your memorial stand at her house.  It's not you can read this duh but it heals to put it in words.

Old Man, never have I ever thought that I would be here where I am today. I accomplished something that I didn’t even know I could accomplish . You sent me a great gift from the other side on my birthday and you gave me the opportunity to become a Flight Attendant and see the world. Not a day goes by where I don’t think of you. I earned my wings today and when I’m up in the sky I’ll be a tab bit closer to you. I love you Jr and this is for you! 🛫

I just want to tell u Jr that i miss u everyday, but today for some reason its even more. I keep hoping that when i open my front door i see a huge man  standing there, that would be u!  I love you!  🙏💌💌💌💌💌💌  

Jr, first things first I miss you, words cannot express how much sadness I feel since you left us. It still hasn’t gotten easier as the days have passed, especially today.  A day I was dreading, a day I very much tried to avoid. It’s my first birthday without you. It’s my first birthday without you buying me my birthday cake. My first birthday without your traditional “Face/Cake Smashing”. (I found a video of my 22nd birthday were the camera captured you creeping up behind me, then all you see is your hand smashing my face in the cake. You got lucky that I wasn’t wearing any makeup that day! Ha.) It’s hard trying to come to terms that you won’t longer be here for anymore birthdays. I know you’re always with me but I know that today you’ll be with me even more. I know you’ll be smashing my face in my cake in your heavenly way possible.  I miss you rolling your eyes at me, I miss picking on you and you picking on me(I loved giving you a hard time!) I miss watching Saturday Night Live with you and Felitos at grandma’s house when we were young, I miss when Felitos and Me were little and you would carry us like a bench press but what I miss most is you calling me “Frog”.  You were in my life for 27 years, very present since the very beginning to the very end. You never allowed anything to stand in the way when it came to family. You gave me more than I could ever ask for, made me the Mavs fan that I am now, made me a prankster like you, and always protected me. I had someone tell me that you considered me as your “Mini-Me”, that’s mostly true, I just talk a little more, but I know for a fact you considered me as your own daughter. I will continue to still give you a hard time from here on Earth. Ha I miss you Old Man!

Erick, I don't even know where to begin.  I miss you so very much.  You were the best thing that has ever happened to me and I can't thank you enough for all the love you gave to me and the girls and most of all our grandsons. Braxton loved to see his Grandpa Erick and still looks for you when he comes over.  Everyone else saw you as the quiet observer but here in our home with us you were so different; the jokester, the father figure,  the best grandfather, the protector and most of all the most loving and fun person.   You were our center and we loved to spend time together and with you.  I, on the other hand, saw you as the most amazing man I have ever known.  You were my best friend, my biggest supporter, my motivator, my reason for living and the love of my whole life.  I can't wait to be with you again in our Heavenly home and I just know that you will be there to welcome me in when my time comes.  Save a place for me and we will take that stroll over Heaven together hand in hand. Until then, I will love you for the rest of my life and will still look to you for guidance and support.  With all of my love and my whole heart and soul,  your loving wife, Melinda. 

I just heard of my old friend’s passing, and I can not believe it. I met Erick in 2000 and worked and hung out with him until I left Dallas in 2011. Big E was a dear friend of mine, we hung out a lot we talked on the phone, we was quiet until I got to know him. He had a funny personality, he would listen hours on end about anything I would rant about, he was a great loyal friend. I have a lot of great memories of my old friend, I’m deeply saddened to hear of his passing. God bless you Big E! 

Motion-TX97 will never be the same. We lost a great friend and colleague.  I have so many funny memories from working with Eric for over 20 years. My most recent memory was when I had to let go of a temporary employee. The employee was getting kind of angry and hesitated to exit the building. And all of the sudden, the employee’s demeanor changed. He said, “I was about to leave!” Then he turned around and walked quickly toward the door yelling, “You didn’t have to call security!” I was puzzled until I turned around. There was Big E walking toward us. Eric had no idea what was going on, He was just headed to lunch. 

Eric  was a joy to work with and he will never be forgotten!  



Starting off my career at Motion Industries, I was hired and assigned to work under Erick. What a blessing that turned out to be. Erick took me under his wings and showed me all the ins and outs of the company. He was very knowledgeable and not only knows his job but understood every cause and effect that matters in making an impact in the company’s daily operations. Because of his guidance and teaching, I quickly got promoted and became part of the management team. Erick is a very important part of our team. His absence is felt and impacted us in a huge way every-time he’s off from work. Looking back and asking myself, had I not been put under Erick, would I be where I am today? All I can say is I am very blessed to have him as a mentor and I thank him so much from the bottom of my heart. Our company is going to feel his absence but I am confident we will come out of it as I will carryon everything he taught me and help pass it down to our fellow employees. I can assure you that I am not the only one who will miss having you around every day, the whole company is. Everybody wanted to come and pay their respects and lay him to rest, but too bad we couldn’t because of work so we had to pick a couple of us to come and represent everybody at the company.  It was very hard for me to see you lay to rest today knowing that it will be our last time but I just take comfort in knowing that you are in a better place now  and have become one of our guardian angels. You rest well big brother and I will continue on our journey knowing that you will always be there by my side guiding me through. Until we meet again Big E.

I don't know if Erick even knows my name (LOL)because I can hear the words "Hey Chief" in my head over and over. Working with Erick for 14 years I guess that was my nickname.... As we know ,Erick did not like the attention be it good or bad attention. We went to alot of hockey games together and Bug Light and peanuts were often our choice at the games. Then we found HOT(spicy) Peanuts at the game. Then that was our go to....until one day we walked up to our usual concession stand and the lady behind the register recognized us and shouted out "Hey you're the guys that like the HOT NUTS"!!!!  Big E tried to get real small that day and we did not eat Hot Nuts that day... LOL You could hear the people in line behind us starting to laugh. I don't think we had another bag of hot peanuts again at the game or at least from that concession stand. I always would shout out "Hot Nuts" once in a while to get a reaction from Erick my friend,  The pain is real you left behind in our hearts Big E, but to know your in Gods kingdom and you beat us there will heal us over time. I will never watch another game in my life and not think of you and the good times we had at the games. Thank you for being who you are!  Rest in peace my friend!

I never knew Erick personally, but spoke with him many times over the years while working for Motion.  
Whenever I needed anything, Erick was always my go to person.  
I will miss speaking to, and working with him. 
May your memories of Erick bring you peace and comfort at this difficult time.

My Beloved brother Jr.,
I still cant believe that you are gone. Words cannot Express the pain i am going through. You are my brother, my Guardian, my trainer, my father figure, my kids father figure too. Thank you for always being there for me, my kids and most importantly our mom. Mom always asked you, mijo give me a grandbaby and you always said para que si con estos changios tengo referring to my kids and felitos kids. Cause yes they are a handful.  I think that if you wouldnt have watched after me the way you did, i totally wouldve been a messed up person because i was the wildchild..  Thank you, thank you, thank you. Just know that everything will be ok. Do not worry about any of us. Be at rest.  You will definitely be missed but we know you are at a better place. Heaven has gained an awesome Angel.

To my older brother 
As I sit here writing this in disbelief with the most pain I’ve ever felt I want to make sure I tell you thank you… Thank you for all the beautiful memories you gave not just me but everyone who had the pleasure of knowing what a wonderful person you were. The laughs we would share when we would watch your fav tv shows or when we would wrestle around or like the time I stepped on a rake and it hit me in the face like a cartoon character, I’ll never forget how hard you laughed. Thank you for loving my kids like they were your own, they loved playing the games you would play with them when we would visit. They’ll forever love and miss their favorite tio. Thank you for being the person who I always looked up to the most I’ll never forget you big brother I love you man until we meet again rest easy and again I love you forever man.

When god was handing out dads, he saved the best for me because he decided I needed some extra love and gave me two. You’ve always been an angel down here on earth and now you’re an angel up in heaven… watching over and protecting, like you always do. You were there for me and my mom when we needed a miracle the most. You took my sister and I under your wing without hesitation and since the very moment you came into our lives I gained an amazing dad. I can never repay you for simply being you. You strengthened me and showed me how to carry myself with love and respect. You always believed in me and loved me unconditionally. You coming into my life has been one of the biggest blessings I’ve been lucky enough to receive. You’ve touched countless lives and been a rock to so many. I only hope I can be half as strong as you and continue to make you proud. Thanks for being there for me and showing me the way.

I will always remember Erick as quiet but very loving. He brought so much joy and happiness to Melinda, and I truly feel that they were meant to be together. I have never seen Melinda more happy than she was with him. Erick and Melinda were there for me and Marcos during a very hard time when we lost our boys. His quiet strength and willingness to help will never be forgotten. I also loved seeing him with his nieces and nephews but especially as he became a grandpa. Erick had so much love in his heart that will be continue to be felt by all of his loved ones.

Were do I start with all wonderful memories you left me and all of us? I want to Thank You for always watching over us as well as protecting us. Stepping in for my brother and I as our Father Figure. How could I ever repay you for everything you did for us? Especially for my grandbones. We all knew you were a "Mama's Boy"!!! I still remember that even at my age of 27 you would still make me get you a Bud Light even when you were inches away from the fridge. I guess that's why I called you an "Old Man" even more, just to erk you and you would give me that side-eye stare. Haha, ohhh how I am going to miss you mocking my laugh then I would in return mock it back, ALWAYS! On all our birthdays you made sure to provide the cake and then smash our faces in them. I gave you a hard time though because you eventually stopped getting me birthday cakes because I was "old" and I said "It doesn't matter if I'm 50 you still need to get me my birthday cake!" You and I had soooo many similarites that I will keep in my heart till my end of time.

Erick was such a huge part of not only my life, but my two sons’ lives. He was there for me during one of the hardest parts of my life. I think Braxton loved him more than he loves me; seeing Grandpa Erick always put the biggest smile on his face. I could not have asked for a better husband for my mother or a better stepfather for my sister and I. Only God knows the reasons why. I only hope that we can make him proud down here on Earth and I find peace knowing we have such a wonderful Angel watching over us now.
