Guy Loran Shelton

Guy dedicated 20 years of service to his country, enlisting in the United States Navy and retiring as an E-6 Petty Officer First Class (PO1). This is a senior noncommissioned officer rank (NCO) above Petty Officer Second Class (E-5) and below Chief Petty Officer (E-7). PO1s serve as technical experts, leading work centers, mentoring junior sailors, and managing day-to-day operations. Guy was then employed by Cedar Valley College in Lancaster, Texas in the Maintenance Department and retired after 20 years. He then became a delivery driver of medical supplies throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth area, again retiring after 15 years.

Guy is preceded in death by his wife, Martha D. Shelton, whom he married in 1961; and his son, James Shelton. He is survived by his son, Jeff and grandson, James Shelton, Jr.; and one sister, Geneva Fay Fekman. Guy will be missed by all that knew him.

Visitation will be held at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050 on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Committal Service will take place at Money Cemetery, Greenville, TX 75401 on Monday, May 11, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
