Henry Stephen Dean was born on December 10, 2015 in Lakeland, Florida to parents Alex and Alicia Dean. He entered the world joyfully, and he spent each of his days laughing, smiling, and surrounded by family and friends. Henry spent the first 18 months of his life in Lakeland, FL, where he loved to play with friends at Heritage Baptist Church. He loved to run up and down the aisles, and he loved soaking up the Florida sun, playing outside any chance he got. When the Deans relocated back to Dallas in 2017, Henry loved getting to spend more time around family, including his Mimi and Uncle Josh, Mia, Aunt Mags and Uncle Jonathan, Groovy (whom he affectionately called Donut Man) and Mimi Terri, Lulu, and many more. He loved his friends at New St. Peter’s Presbyterian Church here in Dallas. He loved to get to church early to hear the music, and he could always be seen running up and down the steps with Alex or Alicia chasing after him. In recent months, Henry found out he would be a big brother to baby Julia, due in June. He carried around his own personal sonogram photo and often danced with her around the house. He had an extensive library of Dr. Seuss and other favorites, and he loved to have Momma and Daddy read books to him over and over. Henry loved to talk and sing about Jesus. Each night, the Deans would read Scripture and ask Henry questions from a children’s catechism. His face lit up every evening, and he couldn’t wait to answer this question: What is the Gospel? Answer: The good news about Jesus. Henry met Jesus on February 8, 2018 as he slept at home in Garland, TX.
Visitation will take place at Matthew Road Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, TX on February 12 from 6-8 PM. A funeral service will be held at Matthew Road Baptist Church on February 13 at 1 PM.
