James Burl “J.B.” Anderson, 93, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 27, 2019. J.B. was born November 25, 1926, in Era, Texas to William and Dora Anderson. He was a 1943 graduate of Era High School. J.B. married the love of his life, Jean, on June 1, 1947. The two were married for 72 years and lived most of that time in Grand Prairie, Texas, where they raised their daughter, Michelle. As a young man, J.B. served in Germany and France during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. After returning home, he worked as a machinist and retired from OEM Industries after 41 years. He was an active member of New York Avenue Church of Christ for many years.
J.B. was preceded in death by his sisters, Ruby Odom, Ruth Bolin, Sarah Odom, Lucille Jones, Nan McReynolds, D. Chisam, and Margurette Hale.
SURVIVORS: Wife, Jean Anderson; daughter, Michelle Stroer (Dennis); granddaughters, Chelsea Wardlow (Josh), Jenny Anderson (Matt), and Katie Potts (Robert); grandson, Scott Stroer; great-granddaughter, Olivia Potts; great-grandsons, Kai Wardlow, Connor Anderson, Finn Anderson and Ryan Johnston; and many nieces and nephews.
VISITATION: 8:30 am - 10:30 am, Tuesday, December 3 at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie, Texas. GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 11:30 am, Tuesday December 3 at Moore Memorial Gardens in Arlington, Texas.
