September 5, 1931 – March 7, 2025
Today, we honor and celebrate the remarkable life of James Roger Borst, a man whose unwavering love, devotion, and service left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Born on September 5, 1931, James lived a life dedicated to his family, community, and country.
On October 10, 1954, James married his soulmate, Jeanette Strickland, beginning a union built on love and mutual devotion. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Cherie, Raymond, and June, creating a family that was the cornerstone of their lives. James’s love for his family was boundless, and his legacy shines brightly through the lives of those he leaves behind.
His wife Jeanette Borst, Cherie Stockard and her husband, John, blessed James with two beloved granddaughters, Jeanette and Catherine Stockard. Raymond Borst, reunited with his late wife Joann, brought joy to James through their daughter, Emily Borst. June Pace and her husband, Ronnie, completed the circle of love with their children, Ash-Lea Tenorio and her husband Jorge, and Cal-Lea Dorsey and her husband Kolby.
The family’s blessings multiplied as James became a proud great-grandfather. The laughter and joy of Taylen and Ayden Tenorio, children of Ash-Lea and Jorge, along with Brinleigh and Hudson Dorsey, children of Cal-Lea and Kolby, brought immense happiness to his later years. James’s love extended far and wide, creating a legacy of cherished relationships and unbreakable bonds across generations.
James’s life was also characterized by his sense of duty and service. As a United States Air Force veteran, he served his country honorably during the Korean War. His courage, integrity, and dedication exemplified his character both in uniform and throughout his life.
We gather not only to mourn James’s passing but to celebrate the man he was: a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and honorable patriot. His memory will forever live on in the lessons he shared, the stories we tell, and the love that continues to bind his family together.
As we reflect on James’s incredible life, let us also find solace in the joy, inspiration, and love he brought to all who had the privilege of knowing him. Though he will be deeply missed, his legacy will guide us and uplift our spirits for generations to come.
Rest in peace, James Roger Borst
