

James enlisted in the United States Army and later transferred to the Army Reserves. During his military time, James received training as a Clerk Typist with Army Headquarters at the 43rd Armed Infantry Battalion achieving the rank of PFT2 (P). He received the National Defense Service Medal, the Army Occupation Medal (Germany) and the Good Conduct Medal.
After his service, James received his degree in accounting. Throughout his career as a controller, James worked for various companies, including Tuna Industry and Lee Pharmaceuticals.
James was an avid bowler, earning many trophies throughout the years. He enjoyed watching sports, but his favorite was undoubtedly hockey, holding season tickets for the Los Angeles Kings for a time, before switching his allegiance to the Anaheim Ducks later on.
James also enjoyed singing, singing bass in the Wilshire United Methodist Church choir for more than 40 years.
James is survived by his wife, Susan; daughters Angela and Jennifer; grandchildren Jack, Rose, Rebecca, and Freya; brother-in-law Duane; nephew Sheldon; and niece Deborah.
A Celebration of Life for James will be held Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050.
