

Joe was born in San Antonio, TX., on October 1,1947, and was raised in Hale Center, TX., where he farmed with his father. He later moved to Grand Prairie, TX., where he there resided, sharing 49 years of life and love with Mary Ann Mirelez. He began his career as a welder, then later became a truck driver, and retired as a very proud trailer mechanic.
Joe enjoyed his life with a bright spirit and soul. He had several enjoyable hobbies, from family time to late night campfires at one of his favorite places, called the (deer lease). He was a very dedicated and passionate hunter, loving every bit of the time spent with his sons and brothers. He was an outdoor person, who loved camping. For many years, he planned camping trips with excitement and joy, and couldn't wait to spend time with his family. He took pride in his big family, loving and sharing this with everyone. Also, Joe had a smile and laugh that no one could help but send back.
Joe is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Mary Ann Mirelez, whom he shared 49 years of life and love; his parents, Guadalupe Mirelez (Father) and Maria Mirelez (Mother); and his sisters, Guadalupe Mirelez and Gloria Sanchez.
Those left to cherish his memories are his sons, Joey Mirelez and his wife, Gracie Mirelez of Arlington, TX., and Marcus Mirelez of Grand Prairie, TX.; and daughter, Anne Hooks and husband, Hilberto Hooks Jr., of Hale Center, TX.; Eight grandchildren, Jorge Martinez Jr., Ashley Hidalgo, Joey Mirelez Jr., Bianca Mirelez, Jordan Martinez, Michael Mirelez, Colin Mirelez and Jairus Martinez; and sixteen great grandchildren; brothers, Lupe Mirelez and wife, Anna Mirelez of Cedar Hill, TX., Sonny Mirelez and wife, Traci Mirelez of Cedar Hill, TX., and sister, Margie Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA.
Services for Joe will be held at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, located at 2951 S. Belt Line Rd., in Grand Prairie TX., 75052. The visitation will be on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, June 13, 2025 from 11:00am to 12:00pm. The graveside service will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, located at 3001 S Belt Line Rd, in Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
