M. Joyce Williams

Melba Joyce Williams, age 94, a resident of Grand Prairie, TX, passed away August 25, 2023. She was born on October 26, 1928, in Paris, TX. Her death is preceded by her husband, Morris Edgar (Willie) Williams, her parents, Olevia Mae Poteet, Horace Poteet, brothers Kent Morris Poteet, George Poteet, and great-grand niece Raegan Elizabeth Lowery.

She is survived by nephew George D "Dock" Poteet, great nephew Jeffry Lowery, Sr. and his wife Hollie Lowery, great-grand niece Audrey Wilson and husband Micah Wilson and their children Clifford Glenn Wilson, Paisleigh Rae Wilson, great-great nephew Jeffry Lowery, Jr., and great nephew Jared Lowery.

Many might say Joyce didn't have any children of her own, or a big family. Oh but she did! She taught many children in the elementary department for many years, and many generations. She also had a very big family. Joyce and Willie devoted every second they could to their family at Calvary. Joyce lavished her love, time and teaching of God's word. She was definitely a servant for Christ, and always put others first.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Grand Prairie Funeral Home in the chapel, located at 733 Dalworth Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. A funeral service will take place Friday, September 8, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Calvary Baptist Church Grand Prairie, 401 W Church Street, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. Burial will follow in Paris, TX.
