Monica was born on April 14, 1960 in Denison, Texas to her parents Billy and Dorothy Rogers. She graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Home Economics in 1982. She married John Dubiski in June of 1987 in Grand Prairie, Texas after working together at Jackson Middle School. Monica taught Home Economics from 1982 to 2007, before getting her master’s degree from University of North Texas in Library Science and becoming a librarian for the Grand Prairie Independent School District. She was a member of The Woods United Methodist Church.
Monica became a step-mother to Brian Dubiski when she married John in 1987 and became a mother to Andrew Dubiski in 1988. She loved them both dearly, and they have many shared memories from watching Brian play football at Texas Tech University to camping trips at Lake Texoma to countless sporting events for both. Monica loved teaching and being a librarian. She had a passion for books, her family, her friends, and her grand dogs. She really enjoyed traveling with friends, going to the movies, and visiting with family.
Monica was preceded in death by her husband, John Dubiski, and mother and father, Billy and Dorothy Rogers. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Andrew and Rebecca Dubiski; sister and brother-in-law, Marsha and Tom Derichsweiler, and nephew, Matt; step-son, Brian Dubiski, and grandchildren Madison and Ty; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Nathan Porter, along with many other family members and countless friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home, located at 2951 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. The funeral will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 at 2:00pm at The Woods United Methodist Church, located at 1350 Bardin Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052. A graveside service will follow at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, located at 3001 S. Belt Line Road, Grand Prairie, TX 75052.
