Paul Wayne Ernst

Service: Memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Alban's Church, 911 S. Davis Drive, Arlington.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Arlington Life Shelter, 325 W. Division, Arlington, Texas 76011, or the charity of your choice.

Paul was born Oct. 31, 1932, in Wichita Falls, to Albert and Verba Fogle Ernst. He graduated from Grand Prairie High School and attended Arlington State College (UTA) before serving in the U.S. Army. He met the love of his life, Alice Stanfield, while in junior high. They would have been married 59 years on June 6. Paul loved his family, church, all sports and the Texas Longhorns.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Charles Stanfield.

Survivors: In addition to his wife, Paul is survived by his children, Steve and Carol Ernst and Keith and Lori Ernst; grandchildren, Lauren and Reg Shepherd, Holly Anne Ernst, Brent Ernst, Ryan Ernst, Aaron Ernst, Brian "BJ" Ernst, Samuel "Sammy" Ernst and Laura and Charlie Smitherman; great-grandson, Rex James Shepherd; Darlene Ernst, mother of grandchildren, Ryan, Laura and Brent; and numerous nieces, nephews and dear friends.
