Paul Vedel Whittington, 79, of Grand Prairie, Texas, changed his address from Grand Prairie to the city of heaven on February 12, 2021. Just like he dealt with all experiences in life, Paul managed his diagnosis with Parkinson’s Disease with strength and grace, and wanted to spend as much time with his loved ones as possible.
He was born in Dallas, Texas on April 7th, 1941 to Sherman an Mary Whittington. Paul graduated from Crozier Tech in Dallas, Texas. He was married to Ruby L. Whittington on July 1, 1960
Paul had a career in welding with Gifford Hill American. He was a member of Abundant Life Assembly of God in Grand Prairie, Texas and had a passion for traveling and spending time with family. An avid Dallas Cowboys fan he enjoyed cheering them to victory and watching wrestling.
Paul is preceded in death by his mother Mary Francis Whittington and father “Cotton” Whittington.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby Whittington; son Danny Whittington and wife, Cathy; daughter Deborah Williams and her husband, Stuart; son Larry Whittington and his fiancé, Sandy; sisters: Charlotte Amon and her husband, Dennis, Linda Samford; brother Billy Whittington and his wife, Joyce. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, February 21st at 1:00 pm, at Grand Prairie Funeral Home, 733 Dalworth Street.
