

Richard L. Curry Jr. earned the rank of Master Sergeant, U.S. Army and served from September 9, 1959 to October 1, 1999. He retired from the U.S. Army with an Honorable Discharge.

Service Record synopsis:
January 1993 - Served as an 88Z Transportation Specialist, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer and oversaw shipping of supplies to military personnel in Somalia.
Mar 1991, Responsible to clear and coordinate Army High priority cargo to Operation Desert Strom and Operation Provide Comfort.
May 1994, Responsible to coordinates, controls, and expedites remarking and redirection of frustrated/retrograde cargo for shipping worldwide.
May 1998, Mobilized for Operation Joint Guard, performed duties as 1st Sgt for 49 Soldiers and served as the NCOIC/Liaison between the Army and Air Force for Ramstein AB, Rhein-Main AB, and Babenhausen site. Responsible for over $1 Million in equipment on a daily basis supporting Contingency Operations.
– Six Soldiers were promoted under his guidance.
May 1999, Served as J-4 Primary Transportation Advisor and Planner for U.S. Southern Command, Forward Command Element Task Force in support Operation New Horizons while stationed at Soto Cano AB, Honduras.
Member of the U.S. Army National Rifle Team.

He had 9 Great Grandchildren, 9 nieces and nephews, 13 great-nieces and nephews and 1 great-great nephew.
