Riley was born August 15, 2003, in Gretna, Louisiana. Shortly after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, her family relocated back to Grand Prairie, where she remained throughout her childhood and later graduated from Crosswinds High School in 2019.
Riley was remarkable for her ability to light up a room and make people laugh with her playful spontaneity. She kept everyone on their toes, and at times could be downright mischievous with her delightfully chaotic ways. At the same time, she was known for her incredible generosity and desire to make everyone feel loved. Riley left this world all too soon, but made an unforgettable impression on those she knew and held dear.
Riley was preceded in death by her grandfather James Lay, and grandmother Martha Sue Ford. She is survived by parents Jeffrey and Amanda Peterman; sisters Bailey and Casey; grandparents David and Brenda Peterman, Crystal and Calvin Butler, and Steve Ford; great grandfather James Lay, and great grandmother Edith Gunn; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
A memorial service will be held in the chapel at Bean-Massey-Burge Funeral Home in Grand Prairie on Tuesday, April 12th, at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her memory to The Child Mind Institute at childmind.org.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.beanmasseyburge.com for the Peterman family.
