Robert G. Polk, 65, passed away January 19, 2020. He was born June 16, 1954 in Palestine, Texas where he was raised by parents, Emmett Lee Polk Sr. and Thelma Ree Deckard Polk. Robert received his formal education in the Palestine Public School System and after graduation then joined the U.S. Navy to pursue a career as a Sailor (ABF-3).
Years later, he moved back to Fort Worth, TX and started a career at the U.S. Postal Service (as a Mailhandler) later he moved into Management (EAP Specialists). Then Robert moved up to Human Resources Associate where he retired when his health began to fail and would not allow him to work any longer in that capacity.
His loving wife, Nona provided for him in the good and bad times. No matter what pain and discomfort he endured, God was with him and so was Nona.
Robert is preceded in death by: father, Emmett; mother, Thelma; brother, Emmett Jr.; sisters, Mary, Theresa, Marisia, Barbara and Brenda.
He is survived by: his supportive wife, Nona Lee Malone Polk; his children, Robert JR, Roderick, Desmond Carroll; step-son, Winfred Tubbs; his supportive sisters, Deborah, Jacqueline and Carolyn; and 14 grandchildren.
