Sandy Baggett Rachels, age 53, took her journey to be with the Lord on Monday, May 7, 2012, after a long battle with cancer. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Thursday at Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens, 3001 S. Belt Line, Grand Prairie. The family welcomes immediate and extended family members to join in this celebration. Visitation: 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Bean Massey Burge Funeral Home, 2951 S. Belt Line, Grand Prairie. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, and in Sandy's honor, contributions may be made to Mary's House, Inc., 1611 W. Sanford St., Arlington, Texas 76012. The family would like to thank Texas Oncology, Oncology Staff of Medical Center of Arlington, Cancer Therapy Research Center of San Antonio and Community Hospice for the abundant amount of care you all have shown Sandy and the family during this courageous fight. The impact you all have made is remarkable. She was preceded in death by her father, Jerry Baggett.
