

Today we say good-bye to Udo Hans Walther, a man who lived and embodied the spirit of America, a decorated War Hero, a father, brother, grandfather and uncle. Udo Hans Walther was born in Furth, Germany in 1947 and came to Texas with his mother, at the age of nine. In 1964, with his first child on the way, Udo joined the US Army, Infantry. During the next nine years he became a sharpshooter, parachutist and GREEN BERET and raised to the rank of Captain. He received the Silver Star for Gallantry, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Air Medal with Valor, Army Commendation Medal with Valor, National Defense Service Medal, and numerous badges. He served three tours in Vietnam and was a member of the Son Tay Raid Team. After his time in the Army, Udo returned to Texas, went to college on the GI Bill and then began his career in Real Estate. Udo Hans Walther was involved in the construction of some of the most beautiful buildings in Downtown Dallas.He leaves behind three children: Tammy Amyx (Michael) of Richardson, TX, Corbin Walther (Terry) of Grapevine, TX and Kathryn Walther of Dallas, TX; four grandchildren; Travis, Tyler, Chase and Emily: his sister Eva Threadgill (Harvey) of El Paso, TX; one nephew, three nieces, eight great-nieces and nephews and six great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his mother and his father.
He will be missed by many.
