Well I was very sad to hear Of Betty`s death ...during the time that I knew her I became quite found of her, she will be missed :0)

Ron and Carol, I didn't have the opportunity to know Betty well, but I do know how highly she spoke of the two of you. She appreciated all that you did, and more importantly all that you were to her. You are in our prayers for the Lord's peace to bring you through this difficult time.

How great it is to have this opportunity to publicly honour the life of Betty Droski!.  

As her daughter-in-law, early on I recognized that many of the exceptional qualities present in my husband, Kevin, owe a debt to being the son of this intelligent, beautiful, gentle woman.  

The old adage that says "if you want to know what kind of a husband your man will make, take note of how he treats his mother" served me well.  Kevin and his mother, Betty, have had a relationship based on mutual respect, admiration and love, with an emphasis on sensitive empathy of each others needs and desires.  I want to stress "mutual" here, because their relationship was no one-sided "momma's boy" affair...Betty was not a matriarch who demanded complete submission from her children so that her own whims might be satisfied--Betty gave a lot of free rein to her son Kevin and her daughter Betsy and assisted them in pursuing their own dreams even as she herself gave energy to things that interested only her.  It seemed to me to be an example of a superb balance of a dynamic independent woman who was also a wife and mother--Betty was not selfless in her devotion to her family at the expense of following her own dreams, but she was keen to make sure her kids had what they needed to make beautiful choices in their own lives.

Beauty is a word that readily defines Betty Droski.

Betty Droski was devoted to creating beautiful spaces...something she excelled at, so much so, that of the many homes she lived in, one could easily have expected them to be pictured in the finer home decor magazines.  (In fact, on Northview Manor's website, they use a photo of Betty's room to show how it is possible to live in beauty, even when relegated to one small room at an assisted care facility.)  Betty had class and exquisite taste...but likewise a humble, economic mind.  Many of her "treasures" were carefully chosen items that she purchased on the old fashioned "lay-away" programs stores used to offer before credit cards were so readily obtained (and abused).

In some ways, life was not easy for Betty and certain elements from past and present provoked a sometimes debilitating depression which she tried hard to work through over the years.  During her last few years, after moving into Northview Manor, and especially after doctors discovered she had a rapid growing cancer and told her she had perhaps two months to live, Betty rallied, overcoming those depression demons and lived well beyond the doctors dire projections, allowing herself to take pleasure in visits and outings with dear friends, warmed and nurtured by the compassionate oversight of Ron and Carolyn Marble--her devoted niece and nephew, and buoyed by the clandestine evening dram of Scotch she enjoyed while watching her favourite evening television programs.  Betty told me she felt she had live a good life and had only one regret...that she had never seen Venice.  Perhaps she is on her way there now!

Bon Voyage fair Betty!  You made the world a more beautiful place during your time here.  You will be missed.

We always enjoyed being with Aunt Betty (and Uncle Stan) , especially around Christmas every year because they were always so happy to share the holidays with us. I have very special memories of visiting their Coral farm when I was a kid and consider those trips as some of the best times I had growing up.

I know she will be missed by all those who knew her and especially the staff at Northview Manor because of the class and dignity she brought with her when she  arrived there a few years ago.
