David Michael Wynalda, age 88, passed away surrounded by his family on April 7, 2026. He was born on June 18, 1937, in Grand Rapids to Michael and Beatrice (Alyea) Wynalda. David was a graduate of Creston High School.
On August 1, 1958, David was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Kay Swan. A good provider, David spent his career working as a lithographer for Modern Litho.
When he wasn’t working, he was found on the lake with a fishing pole in his hand enjoying the peacefulness of water and fight of a big fish on the line.
A man with a big smile, determined personality and loving heart, David will be remembered by all who knew and loved him.
David is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kay; his children Kris Jeltema, Scott Wynalda and Karen (Steve) Daniel; his grandchildren: Jennifer (Jason) Ellison, Derek (Samantha) Chapman, Dana Troyanowski and Andrew (Kayla) Jeltema; his great-grandchildren: Skylar, Alex, Adam, Sophia, Fritz, Evelyn, Lucas and Emily; his brother Mike (Barb) Wynalda and his brother-in-law Kendrick (Vivian) Swan as well as many other relatives.
David was preceded in death by his son-in-law Bill Jeltema; brothers Dan Wynalda and Bob (Pat) Wynalda and his parents.
Private burial will take place.
