

Dennis was a devoted family man whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support touched the lives of all who knew him. He shared a deep and enduring love with Betty his wife of 66 years, with whom he built a lifetime of cherished memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, instilling in them the values of love, hard work, and compassion.
He is survived by his children, Christopher Childress and his wife, Jennifer Rogers, Jennifer Schichtel and her husband, Christopher, and Michael Childress and his wife, Julie. Dennis was a proud and loving grandfather to Vincent and (Maria), Anthony, Ethan, Emily, Stella, Molly, Aiden, and Josie. He also leaves behind his adored great-grandchildren, Olivia and Penelope, who brought him immense joy.
Dennis will be remembered for his generous heart, warm smile, and the profound impact he had on his family friends and the real estate community. His legacy of love and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him. He spent seven years in the Army National Guard, was a builder, graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Architecture, and was a Real Estate Broker for 47 years in the Grand Rapids area.
A service to honor Dennis’s life will be held at 12:00 p.m. at Calvary Church 707 E Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525. Entrance C on Saturday February 22, 2025. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
