Donna Lee Davidge

Donna grew up in Edmore, MI. and was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church. She graduated from Edmore High School in 1966, where she was a percussionist in the band. She earned an associate’s degree at Ferris State College and settled in Grand Rapids. After several years as a library technician at St. Mary’s Hospital, she had a long career at Baker Book House. In retirement, she also held several retail positions.

Following in her parents’ and grandparents’ Masonic footsteps, Donna was a member of Edmore Chapter 111, Order of Eastern Star for over 50 years. Inspired by both the Carl Sagan series “Cosmos” and “Star Trek,” Donna joined the Planetary Society and continued her fascination with astronomy and space throughout her life.

Donna enjoyed her family, always remembering birthdays and special occasions and looking diligently for just the right gifts. She kept in touch with others in the far-flung extended Davidge family to update the online family trees. Donna had fond memories of the Twins’ Conventions she and her sister Dorothy attended. Fraternal twins, they always won the awards for “Least Identical Twins!”

Her siblings, brother Arthur W. (Lyn) Davidge of Ann Arbor and sister Dorothy R. (Randy) Tompsett of Grandville will remember Donna for her can-do manner and her quiet but fiercely independent spirit. Despite any challenges, she lived life her way!

Donna is also survived by her niece Amanda K. Peabody of Ann Arbor; her nephew Scott M. (Bianca) Tompsett of West Olive, and her grandnieces, Addison J. Peabody and Alivia R. Tompsett. Donna was preceded in death by her parents.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 30 at 1 PM at Reyers North Valley Chapel, with the funeral service following at 2 PM. Burial will be in Vinewood Cemetery in Edmore on a date in May to be announced by the family soon.
