

Dwight Aundra Beasley, 74, formerly a resident of Grand Rapids, MI, died on Thursday, January 9, 2020 in Las Vegas, NV. He was born to Joseph and Gertrude Beasley on June 19, 1945. Dwight attended high schools in Evanston, IL and Grand Rapids MI. After graduation, he attended Washburne Trade School in Chicago, IL where he learned the trades of Machinist, TV repair and Tool and Die making. He worked as a Tool & Die apprentice at his brother Joe's Tool & Die Shop in Harvey, IL. For years, he worked at Ardy's Tool & Die Shop in Grand Rapids, MI.
Dwight was also a Train Engineer with Chesapeake and Ohio Railways. He was passionate about music, electronics and school. Dwight learned to play the piano from Mrs. Rambeau in Grand Rapids, MI. He loved reading. His home was full of books on every subject imaginable. Dwight could've been called a 'Professional Student', always finding some school somewhere to attend.
Even in his late 60's, Dwight was still attending Math based, Electronic and CAD classes at the College of Southern Nevada! He was preceded in death by his parents, Gertrude (Beasley) (Freeman) Smith, his father Joseph Beasley, step mother Christine (Mother Dear) Beasley, brother Joseph Beasley II, and step brother Clayton Johnson. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce (Freeman) Brooks of Atlanta, GA, Deborah Freeman of Las Vegas, NV, Harriet (Freeman) (Norman) Hobson Grand Rapids, MI, Vickie (Beasley) Black of Atlanta, GA, Dolores (Beasley) McLeod of Atlanta, GA, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and his close childhood friend Dr. Jeremiah Whittington of Farmington Hills, MI.
Memorial Service will be held on June 6, 2020 at Reyers North Valley Chapel Funeral Home- 2815 Fuller Ave NE (3 Mile & Fuller) in Grand Rapids, MI. A Visiting Hour will take place from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM. Memorial Service will begin at 12:00 PM.
