

Ellenor (nee Finedore) Graves, aged 81, of Grand Rapids was called home to her Heavenly Father on Monday, June 6, 2011, with her loving family by her side. She will be sadly missed by her family, friends and all those who were privileged to know her. She was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 49 years, Irving Graves, sisters; Dorothy Evans, Maxine Littlejohn and Claire Waryzniak. Ellenor will be lovingly remembered by her children; Scott (Pam) Graves, Mary (Steve) Johnson, Steven (Nancee) Graves, Linda (Doug) VanDenBerge, Gregg (Siri) Graves, Cathy (Jon) Rybski all of Grand Rapids, grandchildren; Lindsay Graves, Bradley (Abby) Graves, Becky (Ken) Francis, Paul (fiancée Jaime Galas) Kamp, Jason Kamp, Lisa (Eric) Hofmann, Marie (Seth) Kovarik, Celeste (fiancée Jon Wierzbicki) Graves, Michelle Graves, Jessica, Mikaela, Austin, Alyssa, Selyna VanDenBerge, Brianna, Ian, Carter Graves, Brett, Kristin Rybski, step-grandchildren; Heather (Mike) Rangel, Kristine (David) Crawford, Courtney, Josh Miles, Jami (Jeff) Russell, 11.5 great-grandchildren, brother Henry Finedore of Washington, sister Mary Ann Spidell of Grand Rapids, special niece, Jean Morrison of Texas, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ellenor graduated from Union High School in 1947, then worked for Michigan Bell. She married the love of her life in 1950. She co-founded Graves and Assoc. Construction Company and Northview Manor with her husband, Irving. She was an active life-long parishioner and volunteer at St. Alphonsus Parish. Strong in her faith, Ellenor was a loving wife, mother, and friend, very generous, caring and had a big heart. She was devoted to her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved traveling, camping, and spending time with her family. She was a wonderful cook and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. She had a way of making each person feel special. A Memorial Mass will be held 11:00 AM on Friday, June 10, 2011 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, 224 Carrier St. NE, with Rev. Denis Ryan C.Ss.R. as celebrant. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Reyers North Valley Chapel, 2815 Fuller Ave. NE with a vigil service at 7:30 PM. Interment at Holy Cross cemetery. For those who wish, memorials may be made to St. Alphonsus Capital Campaign.
