On Wednesday, February 15, 2023, Eugene Orlan McIntyre went to be with his Lord and Savior in Heaven, with his loving wife of 48 years by his side. Gene, 75, was the beloved patriarch to his family whom he always put first above all else. Gene especially loved his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making each and every one of them feel as if they were the only one in the whole entire world when he was with them. Gene loved his country and was extremely patriotic. He served his country in the Air Force for over twenty years, retiring as a highly decorated tech sergeant. He was born to Marian and Eugene McIntyre in Grand Rapids on March 2, 1947. He was preceded in death by both his parents, and his son, Eugene O. McIntyre Jr. He is survived by his wife, Lorna McIntyre; children, Kathy (Brent) Perdue, Duane (Rina) Smith, Elvern (Mary) Smith, Karen Smith, Debra (Jim) Rogers, Robert (Kristina) Smith, and Cindy (Bryan) VanHorn; as well as many grandchildren, and great-children.
A memorial service will take place on Wednesday, February 22, 2023 at 11:00 am at Reyers North Valley Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior to the start of the service. Interment will take place at Ft. Custer National Cemetery at 2:00pm after the service at the funeral home.
