Frank Popiel

Frank T. Popiel, 89, WWII Naval Veteran, of Grand Rapids Twp, passed away on June 2, 2014 at Heather Hills Care Center. He was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Phyllis, and his brothers Clarence, Edward, Harry, Ernie, and sister Catherine. He will be lovingly remembered by his children; Cheryl Peters, Alice (George) Rozenski, Karen Rundquist, Jane (Mark) Clements and Phil “Bud” Popiel (his best buddy and guardian angel); his grandchildren Angela (Marc) Specter, Erin Prefontaine and Nicholas (Abby) Rozenski, Gregory (Dana) Rozenski and Philip (Li) Rozenski; great-grandchildren Simon, Franklin, Lena, Savannah, TJ, Shawn and Evelyn; and special family friend Spencer Blickley. His children thank Hospice of Holland and give a very special thanks and appreciation to the entire staff at Heather Hills Care Center, for the care and attention given to their Dad. Please join the Family on Saturday June 7, 2014 for visitation at St. Robert of Newminster Parish (6477 Ada Dr. SE, Ada, Michigan 49301) from 10 to 11am, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am, with Father Leonard Sudlik officiating. Private Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Michael J Fox Parkinson’s Foundation, Alzheimer’s Foundation of West Michigan, or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
