Helen J Prince Botma

Helen Josephine Botma, aged 99, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was born in the Fall of 1917 in East Grand Rapids to the late George and Henrietta Prince. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Louis Botma Sr. who died in 1998. Surviving are her sons; Louis Jr. (Marlene), Larry (Sue) and David (Robin); 6 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Helen was a proud graduate of East Grand Rapids High School. She and Louis enjoyed their many travels together. Helen was particularly fond of and an avid collector of owl figurines. She also loved growing and tending to her flowers. Helen was a strong Christian and lifelong believer in Jesus Christ. Funeral Services are scheduled to take place at Reyers North Valley Chapel on Tuesday January 31, 2017 at 11 am. Visitation will be held Monday January 30, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm with an additional hour of visitation prior to the funeral service on Tuesday. She will be laid to rest next to the love of her life, Louis Sr. in Fulton Street Cemetery in Grand Rapids.
