James Thomas Berry, aged 79, of Grand Rapids, MI went to be with his Lord and Savior, peacefully in his home and in the company of his wife on Friday, August 3, 2018. He was born in Grand Rapids in 1938 to the late James and Thelma Berry. Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 33 years Ollie Beth Berry [Frede] and his daughters Kara (Lew) Meriweather, Karla Berry; stepdaughter Laura Williams; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother Donald (Sharon) Berry and in-laws David Frede and Cathleen (Robert) Newberg. He and Beth were members at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Rapids, MI. Jim will be fondly remembered as a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. A Funeral Service, will take place at 12:00 noon Wednesday August 8, 2018 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, (2 Michigan St., Grand Rapids, MI 49503), with family visitation prior, beginning at 10 am.
